Dr. David Newman
Dr. David I. Newman was born in Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1980. Dr. Newman followed in the footsteps of his father, Dr. Lawrence Newman, and his sister, Dr. Cheryl Newman, in becoming a dentist and working at the Dearborn Dental Office. Dr. Lawrence Newman, Dr. Cheryl Newman and Dr. David Newman worked together for many wonderful years until Dr. Lawrence Newman’s passing of cancer and Dr. Cheryl's early retirement to be with her family.
Dr. Newman understands how important your smile is and will make every effort to provide the gentlest dental care for you and your family. Dr. Newman loves practicing Dentistry and being able to work with so many talented professionals. He has been a Dentist for 36 years and looks forward to many more years to come with his wonderful staff and patients at Newman Family Dental.
When Dr. Newman is not at the dental office, he enjoys engaging in many outdoor sports, boating, and skiing out West with friends and family.
Dr. Dale Garber
Dr. Dale Garber was born in 1960 in Detroit and has been a Michigan native all of his life. His affiliation with the Newman family goes back to the early 1950’s when his father Fred Garber entered the University of Michigan Dental School’s Class of 1956 with Dr. Lawrence Newman and the families became lifelong friends. Twenty nine years later, Dr. Dale Garber graduated from the same dental school and later began practicing at Newman Family Dental Center.
Dr. Garber enjoys all aspects of dentistry and takes pride in making patients feel relaxed and comfortable in the dental office through his gentle demeanor and sense of humor. He likes to keep current with the latest technologies and is a member of the American Dental Association. Getting patients beyond their fears and providing them with the confidence that a healthy, beautiful smile brings is what Dr. Garber enjoys most about his profession. In his free time, Dr. Garber likes to keep physically fit through biking, half iron man triathlons, and marathons. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his wife Lisa, and his three children Samantha, Jenna, and Noah. He feels very fortunate to be a part of the Newman Family Dental Center team, for the past three decades!
Dr. Melissa Moccia-Patton
Dr. Melissa Moccia-Patton grew up in Dearborn Heights and began working as an office assistant at Newman Family Dental while attending the University of Detroit Mercy. She continued to work at Newman Family Dental while completing her DDS at the University of Detroit Mercy. During this time, she was also trained as a lab assistant and dental assistant. It is because of her wide scope of training she has valuable knowledge of the day-to-day operations of the dental office.
Dr. Melissa has been practicing general dentistry at Newman Family Dental since 2007. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and the Detroit District Dental Society. Over the years, she has taken many post-graduate courses in many areas of dentistry. Many of her continuing areas of education include endodontics (root canals), oral surgery, and CAD/CAM.
Dr. Jeffrey Adler
Dr. Jeffrey Adler is proud to have been serving patients in the Dearborn community for over 30 years. He graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1983 as one of Michigan’s youngest, if not the youngest dentist, receiving his Dental School acceptance letter at the age of 19. With his warm, friendly smile and gentle approach toward dentistry, Dr. Adler enjoys making people happy and helping create beautiful, healthy smiles.
In addition to veneers, bonding, implants and other restorative treatments, Dr. Adler received post-graduate training in orthodontics, providing braces and aligner treatment, such as Invisalign, for over 30 years. Dr. Adler is a member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, the Detroit District Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Adler’s goal is to provide quality services for his patients and to join with them in their efforts to achieve long-term excellent dental health through the highest level of care.
Outside the office, he enjoys his family life with his wife and three adult children, as well as creating sand sculptures, drawing, painting and writing an action-adventure novel.
Dr. Mark Isler
Dr. Mark Isler graduated from the University of Detroit Dental School in 2005. Participating in the accelerated six year inter flex program, he received a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. After practicing in Dearborn he returned to the University of Detroit School of Dentistry where he entered the Graduate Periodontal Residency program. Upon completion he achieved his Master of Science degree in Periodontics and became board certified by the State of Michigan. Dr. Isler has been published in the Practical Procedures in Aesthetic Dentistry journal for his clinical work. In addition, he has completed training and certification in advanced anesthesia and conscious sedation.
Dr. Isler makes educating his patients a top priority. By sharing his knowledge and expertise his patients are better able to choose the treatment that’s best for them. Dr. Isler’s patients enjoy his gentle touch, and treatment in a comfortable and relaxed environment.
Dr. Jeffrey S. Cohen
Dr. Jeffrey Cohen was born in Windsor, Ontario. He received his undergraduate education and Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada in 1988. He subsequently graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, Illinois in 1992. This was followed by an internship in anesthesiology at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Dr. Cohen then returned to Northwestern University Memorial Hospital completing a 4-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1997.
Dr. Cohen enjoys practicing the full scope of our specialty. This includes a special interest in dental implants, pathology, orthognathic, facial trauma and adjunctive cosmetic procedures for facial rejuvenation. He is an attending staff surgeon involved in educating the St. John-Macomb Hospital Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residents and the Botsford Hospital Emergency Room residents. Dr. Cohen became certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 2003 and is an Associate of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery as well. He is certified in both Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support and is a CPR instructor.
Dr. Cohen resides in West Bloomfield, Michigan with his wife Stacy and his two daughters, Samantha and Madison who are avid dancers involved in competition. He enjoys playing tennis, skiing, scuba diving, deep sea and fly fishing as well as traveling.
